About
Why I built Lazygif
I make tutorial GIFs for my indie games, and I use screen clips at work all the time. Making them was way more frustrating than it should have been.
Online GIF tools had a separate page for each job. Crop on one page, resize on another, text on a third, so I exported over and over and edited copies of copies.
The alternative was a video editor, then a GIF converter with confusing export options. Often the result didn’t look good and I started again.
And the free editors were full of ads, including those scammy “your download is ready” ones.
So I built the tool I wanted.
What Lazygif does instead
- One page. Record or open a video, edit it on one timeline, and export once.
- The size is checked for you. Pick where the GIF is going and it fits that platform’s limit.
- Nothing is uploaded. Everything runs in your browser tab.
- No ads, no watermark, no account. It’s free.
If it saves you one round of copies of copies, it did its job.
